Bright and early on Wednesday morning at 8:30am, Big Sky Community Organization is hosting a 5k-road run that will flow into the community with all fun activities afterwards. The Firecracker Open will have a shotgun start at 10am at the Big Sky Golf course.

Moving into the evening, a weekly farmers market will start at 5pm, with the Tiny Band and fireworks to follow. This Swedish band is sure to bring the crowd at its feet moving and grooving under the shadows of Lone Peak.

Thursday holds no different with headliner Mandolin Orange + Joe Pug playing at music in the mountains starting at 6pm. This folk duo band from North Carolina has been a rising star on Spotify for some time now.

This three-day event starts at Gallatin River Guides with a huge storewide sale with free beer and appetizers, moving into day two with the Hooked on the Gallatin banquet with a silent auction benefiting Gallatin Task Force taking place at the Gallatin Riverhouse Grill. The last day will offer the string trio band, The Last Revel on Saturday with a Montana Distillery tasting garden and various other activities.

Last year, this festival brought in $33,000 for the well being of Gallatin River. Come out and support our local fly fishing guides, the Gallatin River Task Force and many other community based businesses. Head over to gallatintaskforce.org for more information!

Yellowstone Club

Yellowstone Club is a 13,600 acre private residential community set amidst the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. The Club’s superior amenities, Montana charm, and overwhelming natural beauty present an incomparable venue for mountain living, year-round recreation, and creating cherished family traditions.

Explore the spectacular beauty of the world’s only private ski and golf community and the benefits of membership in this exclusive one-of-a-kind club. In addition to the 2,200 acres of powder-drenched trails of world-class skiing in the winter and an 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed mountain golf course for the summer, we have a full Outdoor Pursuits program for unparalleled mountain adventures.

Meadow Village

Seven miles from the base of Lone Mountain is town. The site of summer festivals and events, like the Professional Bull Riders Tour, Big Sky Farmers Market, Brewfest, live music, yoga in the park, and productions at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center. Take in a movie at Lone Peak Cinema, restock your fridge at Roxy’s Market or grab a casual bite to eat. There are so many things to do in Big Sky. And the Town Center is growing with the opening of the state-of-the-art Big Sky Medical Center and lots more businesses and services are on the way. Seems like the perfect place to plan your summer vacation.

Spanish Peaks Mountain Club

Spanish Peaks sits on nearly 6,000 acres of Montana’s most desirable mountain terrain with stunning views in every direction. Surrounded by National Forest and part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, you’d think you’ve left civilization behind. And yet, here, among the pine canopies and soaring vistas you are never far from exceptional creature comforts and outstanding service. It seems luxury and adventures are not mutually exclusive pursuits.

Before Tom Weiskopf began designing the golf course at Spanish Peaks, he explored the whole area on horseback. And like a sculptor looking at a piece of raw marble, he found a landscape destined to become a mountain golf masterpiece. It’s as playable as it is picturesque. Experts will encounter plenty of deeply gratifying challenges, and yet beginners and intermediates will just have a lot of fun. Here, it can be hard to keep your eye on your ball as you find yourself looking out to the Gallatin Range, the Spanish Peaks and all the way to the summits of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness 50 miles away. It feels as if it’s just you and the golf course. And maybe a moose.

Moonlight Basin Resort

Membership in the Moonlight Club is the key that unlocks the best of Montana. It takes your experience to the next level. Perks including use of the new golf course and clubhouse, amenities at Moonlight Lodge, recreation programs designed by Moonlight Outfitters, and reciprocity with the Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, just to mention a few. Plus you’ll always have your Member Services team providing a top-notch service to make your Montana experience better than you could ever have imagined.

Ask any skier about their best day ever and they’ll tell you about a place where the snow is measured in feet rather than inches. About 33 feet per year on average. They’ll talk about the quality of the powder and how there is nothing like the legendary “cold smoke” trailing behind you under a clear blue Montana sky. And now that Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort are united under one pass, you can ski 5,800 acres of mountain and just about every kind of terrain you can imagine. In fact, you can find an amazing variety of skiing – from exhilarating steeps to miles of groomers – without ever leaving Moonlight Basin. In other words, you’re going to have a lot of best days ever.

With over 24 years of experience in the Rocky Mountains, Rich has called Big Sky home for 15 years. Born and raised in Minnesota, Rich has spent considerable time in Beaver Creek, Colorado, enriching himself in the ski and golf industry.  Evolving himself in the luxury real estate market, he spent 10 years with Yellowstone Club, where he helped grow the membership from 100 families to over 500 families while contributing to over one billion dollars in sales during his tenure. After 3 years of experiencing the greater Big Sky market, it was time to start his own legacy with the creation of Timberveil. Rich and his family live in the Meadow Village and feel privileged to be a part of the robust growth Big Sky is experiencing. As a former college decathlete, Rich coaches the Lone Peak High School track and field team, which has been a passion of his ever since.

Shawn grew up in Kansas but forged a love for the mountains in his teens via 10 hour bus rides for weekend ski trips to Colorado. A Kansas University graduate, he spent a notable amount of time in Vail, Colorado and went on to live at Schweitzer Mountain, outside of Sandpoint, Idaho. A real estate veteran of almost 20 years, Shawn has been involved in every facet of resort real estate, setting numerous sales records along the way. From introducing others to the mountain lifestyle he loves, starting a local real estate company and growing it to the top producing agency in the Sandpoint area, or managing the brokerage of Gozzer Ranch Golf and Lake Club in Coeur d’Alene, Shawn has consistently risen to the top of his field. Based in Sandpoint, Idaho, Shawn’s biggest challenge and most rewarding experience has undoubtedly been raising triplet boys with his wife Lynn. Shawn coaches their many sports teams and enjoys giving them a new outlook on living in a mountain town. When not working, Shawn can be found living up to his “get kids outside” mantra.
